Children

Children's Ministries exists to

  • assist parents in their biblical role of raising their children in a manner that honors the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
  • teach the Word of God (Psalm 119:15)
  • present everyone mature in Christ (Colossians 1:28)
  • equip children to live as salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14)
  • encourage children to do all for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)

    • Our Curriculum

    The majority of our curriculum comes from Children Desiring God Ministries.

    Distinctives of this curriculum are:

  • God-Centered - God is the main character in all of life
  • Bible-Based - the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God
  • Doctrinally-Sound - teaches children all the essential doctrines of the Christian faith
  • Depth - gives students big truths expressed and explained in easily understood terms and illustrations
  • Incremental - presents the whole counsel of God precept upon precept
  • Application - the lessons engage the mind, yet aims for a right heart responst to the truth

    • Worship Hour

    9:00am-10:45am

    Nursery (0-2): Nursery is where we minister to the youngest in our church family. The children will enjoy playtime with our loving adults. We also introduce children to basic concepts about God. (Location: Nursery)

    Early Childhood (3-5): Early Childhood is where we minister to our 3-5 year olds. The curriculum is "A Sure Foundation" where our young children begin to learn the foundations of Jesus Christ. They also enjoy playtime and a snack. (Location: A12; adjacent to the Nursery)

    Primary Grades (K-4th): Children’s Church is where we minister to your school age child through a Bible lesson that is geared toward their level of understanding, playtime and snack time. Children are dismissed during the service to this special time for them. (Location: S-16)

    Upper Grades (5th & 6th): We believe that our 5th & 6th graders are able to comprehend much of what is being presented in the worship service. We value family worship. We encourage parents to help their children follow along and learn to participate in this aspect of worship.

    Sunday School

    10:45am-11:45am

    At 10:45 am children ages 3 and up are escorted by their leaders to their Sunday School class.

    Nursery (0-2)

    Playtime, snack and loving care. (Location: Nursery)

    Early Childhood (3-5)

    Indoor play, singing, and a Bible lesson from "He Established a Testimony." (Location: A-12)

    Kindergarten & First Grade

    Indoor activities, prayer and a Bible lesson from "The ABC's of God" (Location: S-15)

    Second & Third Grade

    Indoor activities, prayer, and a Bible lesson from "The Child's Story Bible" (Location: S-18)

    Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Grade

    Prayer and Bible lesson from "The Providence of God." (Location: S-16)

    Summer Program 2013

    This summer our VBS program will be held during CORE Week, Monday-Friday, June 24-28. Each night begins with a FREE dinner at 5:30. The program begins at 6:30 and includes singing to a live band, Bible studies, crafts, activities, games and snacks.

    No cost to participate; nursery care provided; classes for PreK - 6th Grade
