About SGCS
San Gabriel Christian School, established in 1949, is an outreach of San Gabriel Community Church. The administrative and teaching staffs are united in the common goal of educating, guiding and loving each of our students. It is toward this purpose that good facilities are provided, modern education techniques and programs are used, and a staff of godly, professionally qualified, credentialed teachers are dedicated. The school provides a strong Christian education program for over 450 students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.
San Gabriel Christian School sees itself as an integral part of the relationships necessary for the complete education of the whole child. The school desires to assist and complement the home as it trains the children to grow and develop academically and spiritually.
Our Mission Statement
The body of Christ at San Gabriel Community Church exists to make known the glory of God to all peoples through the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. San Gabriel Christian School exists to extend the ministry of San Gabriel Community Church into the community by offering the highest quality education in an environment that encourages the development of committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Our Philosophy & Objectives
* Education is grounded in the absolute truth of the Word of God
* Christ, not man, is the center of all things
* Human nature is sinful, not inherently good
* The School's role is to assist the family in fulfilling their responsibility to educate their child
* Christian education depends upon modeling by teachers led by the Holy Spirit, and not solely on educational methodologies
* The Christian school strives to develop Christ-likeness, not simply impart knowledge
* God's truth reaches beyond the classroom and is to be applied to every area of life
* A more detailed explanation of the philosophy and objectives is located in the parent handbook
